Description

Squid: Take Notes is an Android note-taking app from Steadfast Innovation. It is built around writing on your device, and the source material states that you can write with an active pen, a passive stylus, or your finger. The app is listed in the Productivity category, and this release is version 4.6.1-GP.

The source describes a simple interface intended to reduce the time spent learning and adapting to the app. Notes can be saved and arranged in an order that suits you, and the app is presented as a tool for keeping track of information you cannot remember.

Writing and Input

Squid supports several ways to put marks on the page. According to the source, input can come from an active pen, a passive stylus, or a finger. This means the app does not require a specific type of stylus to accept handwriting.

Note Management and Editing

The source describes a set of editing tools for working with notes after they are written. These include highlighting what you have written and important information, erasing parts of a note, creating shadows, and adding text. Notes can be saved and arranged in a chosen order.

PDF and File Handling

Squid can import PDF files. Within the app, you can make bookmarks and note down content you consider necessary. The source also states that the app helps automatically remove font errors to free up space and avoid using too much memory.

Export and Sharing

Completed notes can be exported as PDFs or images. The source says you can then share the saved content with others or store it in the cloud. Recording formats are set to an optimal level to help preserve content.

Graphics and Formatting

The source mentions free graphics tools and options to adjust notes. You can add images or draw annotations with vector graphics. Font colors can be changed, and fonts can be made thicker for visibility. Images can be resized to fit the note space, including cropping and zooming in and out.

Presentation Use

The source states that the app can turn your device into a virtual whiteboard for presentations or meetings by wirelessly connecting to TV screens and projectors.
