Forest is a productivity app developed by Seekrtech. It presents a timer as a tree that grows while you stay on task. The app is listed at version 5.31.0 for Android, with a listed size of 156M. This release is a MOD version that includes Premium Unlocked.
The app is built around a simple visual: a circle in the center of the screen with a tree interface. You swipe the edge of that circle to extend how long you stay in the Forest. From there, the app tracks a tree from planting through harvest, and that process is tied to a mental method for concentration.
Focus Timer and Tree Growth
When you begin a session, you plant a tree. The tree remains in progress until it is harvested. If you leave the tree you are cultivating, you move into a different mode. The app's main function is to track that tree from planting to harvest. This mode needs to be enabled, because the tree can wither if you stop paying attention while browsing other content.
You choose the focus mode that fits your task. The purpose is to avoid exiting the app or switching to other apps to watch something else and get distracted. The timer serves as a signal for when you should return your attention to your task. At the same time, the app is meant to be used to avoid being confined by other forms of digital entertainment. How much time you devote to each aspect is up to you.
Pomodoro and Other Focus Techniques
The Pomodoro technique can be used with Forest. This method uses timed breaks to improve focus. It involves working for a set period and then taking a brief break. The usual period is 25 minutes, and the method is intended to help with concentration over long stretches. The app supports this technique alongside its tree-based timer.
Growing a Forest
Each completed tree is planted on a large plot of land. The area around it fills with trees of various species, reflecting your focus. Seeing the plot fill up can feel satisfying and can motivate you to continue the routine. You can also set reasonable goals in the accomplishments area to reward yourself for sticking with the habit. Many additional tree species can be unlocked and added to your Forest.
Music, Points, and Daily Tasks
Forest includes a music feature for concentration. Music can help you focus, but it can also become a time drain if most of the songs you want are locked and you have to keep trying to unlock them by completing objectives. Plants and music can be purchased from a store using points. Daily tasks let you earn more points to purchase various items.
Tracking Your Progress
The app includes a graphic option for concentration that you can customize to display certain content. The chart shows how consistently the software aids your concentration. If you maintain the pace, you can add 5-10 minutes of productive time. Short bursts of concentrated effort can lead to longer periods of focus and productivity.
