Description

Tile is an Android app in the Lifestyle category that helps you keep track of everyday objects. It works together with Tile locator devices that you attach to items such as keychains, clips, or larger belongings. Once a Tile device is connected to the app, you can use the app to find the object it is attached to.

The app presents a smart interface where connected objects appear as icons. Each icon includes a shortcut key that helps you determine the exact location of that object. The interface is designed for quick access to its features, including maps, device adjustment, and phone tracing.

How Tile Works

Before using the locating features, you need to attach a Tile device to the object you want to track. These devices can serve as keychains, clips, or fit inside larger items. After connecting the device to the app, the object becomes part of your list of tracked items.

The app uses a transmitter in each Tile device to identify the item's location. Its navigation system helps you pinpoint where a forgotten item is. This gives you a way to find things you may have misplaced without spending time searching.

Map and Location Features

Tile includes a map that shows your surroundings in detail. To use it, you grant the app access to your location. The GPS system then determines your position and displays nearby roads, buildings, and notable places such as restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets.

Objects linked to the app also appear on the map. This lets you see the precise location of your tracked items alongside the surrounding area.

Finding Items by Sound and Voice

The app can ring a notification bell on a Tile device. If you have lost an item, you can listen for the sound to help locate it. Tile also supports voice searches. You open the dialogue interface, say the name of the object you want to find into the microphone, and the app transmits the signal. It then provides the location of that object through both image and sound.
