Summertime Saga is a story-focused Android game developed by Nutaku. It follows a non-linear structure where you decide what to do as you move through the game's areas and learn about relationships with other characters. The story begins with an ordinary guy entering college, but his life changes after he learns of a debt from a group of criminals. You direct his activities and make choices that shape how the plot develops.
Non-Linear Story and Choices
The game does not follow a linear path. You are the one who decides what to do, and each choice and interaction reveals new information. There is not much linear telling you what to do, so you must find out what is going on inside the city by interacting with different characters and living the main character's real life. The plot moves in the direction you want based on what you think is reasonable.
Character Interaction and Relationships
Each character brings their own conversations and development branches for you to spend time on. Through these relationships, you learn more about work and life, and you implement appropriate strategies to help maintain your life after a family incident. You can try ways to conquer girls using life experience from things you have experienced.
Locations and Exploration
The game takes place in a peaceful town with many areas to explore. A vast world makes you feel curious, with surprises waiting. When visiting certain locations, a storyline can be unlocked immediately. You can move freely to other locations, and an interactive map lets you see many things and decide where to go next. Your house has its own contents, and you can move freely to other locations.
Mini-Games and Gameplay
Besides finding strategies to conquer love, you also have to go through many other challenges. Participating in mini-games is mandatory as it is necessary to develop strong relationships. You can collect resources quickly by solving mini-games that you can complete quickly. The game focuses entirely on strategy, where many things can have different consequences.
Updates and Content
Because events do not follow a linear axis, you still have to find a way for the story to develop. The times you interact with other characters in different locations, you realize small tasks you are forced to do. From there, you head to the respective location to complete it by solving mini-games. Updates bring new mechanisms that keep players excited over time. Due to the diverse number of characters, it is understandable to return to the gameplay.
