SLIME - ISEKAI Memories is a role-playing game for Android developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. The title continues the narrative of the Tensura anime after its first season, placing Rimuru in a new conflict connected to a mirror world. The game mixes turn-based card combat with a nation-building system and a large cast of characters from the series.
This release is version 4.0.70 and is distributed as a MOD. The MOD adds a menu that contains several adjustable options, which are listed in the MOD Features section below.
Story and Setting
The plot picks up after season 1 of the anime. Rimuru faces a problem tied to the mirror world, a place where he can meet beings that resemble his companions. A key detail of this world is that memories are erased upon leaving it. Later, characters such as Shion and Shuna are drawn into the mirror world and come across their own mirror counterparts. Through these events, more information about the strange world is revealed. The story also introduces the fact that Rimuru has a daughter in this game.
A slime-shaped character resembling Rimuru appears and reveals the plot behind it. Because the game is a side story, players cannot predict the new events that will occur.
Voiced Cutscenes and Returning Characters
The game is set after season 1 and features characters including Benimaru, Gobta, and Milim. Players can re-experience some events and matches from season 1. The voice actors and events are intended to create a feeling of closeness, and the player takes part in battles rather than only observing them. Unique battles, such as the one with Charybdis, are part of the experience. In addition to recalling season 1 events, the game includes interesting events written by Fuga. The gameplay is familiar rather than completely new.
Turn-Based Card Battles
Combat is turn-based. Players use cards with character icons to perform attacks. Selecting cards of the same type produces attacks with more bonus damage and can increase the skill gauge. The skill gauge matters because it can change a group of cards that are not of the same type into a synchronized six-card combination to launch combos. When the gauge is full, it can also help a character use a Secret Skill, which is described as the skill that decides the battle.
Secret Skill cards are rainbow-colored and differ from other elements. The player chooses the brightest card, and the remaining options are not very important because the condition for launching the special skill is only six cards. These skills recreate the most powerful abilities of the character from the anime of the same name. For example, players who want to try skills like Megiddo, which destroyed thousands of Falmouth troops, need to accumulate enough skill energy and wait for it to be released.
Attacks are performed by selecting the characters' cards. The combo mechanism is explained carefully because it is one of the important things that affects the match. When a character launches a powerful attack, a cutscene appears continuously.
Nation-Building System
The game includes a nation-building system. Players can freely create different areas according to designs they come up with. The difference between player countries is the way they set up their areas, with free placement of different buildings. When strong characters complete quests, the town has enough resources to develop, and a kingdom like the one in the anime becomes possible.
Character Cast and Summoning
Each character has interesting characteristics. When a character's appearance is changed, it is considered a new form and a separate entity. A summoning system allows players to randomly receive these characters. Players who wish to get a character can use the limited banner. Players can also create squads that are suitable for each other and discover the Secret Skills of new characters.
Meeting the characters from season 1 of Tensura is an exciting feeling for players. The voice cast remains unchanged, so the journey can be experienced safely. Each dialogue is often associated with the events of the original anime and opens up interesting storylines created by the author.
