RainViewer is a weather app for Android developed by MeteoLab. It provides weather information through radar maps, satellite data, and forecasts. The app is available in version 8.2, and this release is offered as a Premium Unlocked MOD.
RainViewer focuses on showing where rain and snow are occurring, tracking storms, and delivering alerts. It supports monitoring multiple locations and offers several ways to adjust how radar data is displayed.
Rain Radar Map
The app provides rain maps for different areas to help predict local weather. You can select various locations to monitor, and the app supplies data for those areas. Storm forecasts are also included, which can help with early prevention and notifying coastal fishermen.
- Live animated radar: Based on the provided map, you can see types of rain, average rainfall, and snow in real time.
- Track storms: Follow rain and storms in your area and other locations using the map.
- Precipitation forecasts: The radar shows areas where it will rain, expected precipitation, and real-time precipitation.
Global Rain and Snow Layer
Satellite data is used to identify storm areas and improve rainfall predictions. The app also provides updates and forecasts for upcoming natural disasters. You can monitor areas with little rain, such as deserts, as well as places where sudden rain often appears.
- Satellite rain data: Satellite data shows which areas are receiving rain and which are not. Radar can also be used to observe areas without rain, such as deserts or oceans.
- Radar alternatives: You can get detailed weather information for your area and the areas of people you care about.
- Worldwide coverage: A chart provides global rain and snow levels for observation.
Customizable Radar View
The radar view is a central feature. You can choose from multiple viewing modes and change the viewing direction. To get exact rainfall and weather information for a specific area, you can tap that location or use the search button to type it in.
- Focus locally: Zoom in on any area and use annotations to see relevant parameters.
- Hyperlocal view: Your area is displayed according to different weather types; parameters remain the same but are expressed differently.
- Adjustable radar: The app shows amounts of rain in different types, and satellites help you see where rain bands appear from.
Accurate Weather Forecasting
Weather information is provided quickly, and you can choose from different weather types. Forecast periods can be selected, including one day, three days, or one week. A one-month weather forecast is also available, with little difference compared to the shorter forecasts.
- Know start and end times: Besides temperature, the app forecasts when rain will appear and when it will end for the locations you choose.
- Plan your days: You can track rainy days and rainfall forecasts to arrange your schedule.
Timely Alerts
The app provides weather warnings to help you get information and plan effectively. This is especially relevant during snowfall or blizzards, when updates can help you return home safely or adjust your schedule.
- Rain notifications: When rain is approaching, the app sends notifications so you can take timely measures.
- Snow alerts: Snowfall forecasts are provided for specific times, helping you calculate the safest route home.
- Severe weather warnings: Based on these warnings, you can rotate work or rearrange important tasks.
- Never get caught: The app helps you remember to carry a raincoat or umbrella when going out.
