Meowdoku is a logic puzzle game with a cat theme. The board is a colored grid, and the aim is to give each cat a single spot. The game borrows the one-per-area discipline of Sudoku but does not use numbers. Instead, the colored shapes and the no-touch rule provide the clues. This makes it a different experience from a standard number grid and may suit players who prefer narrowing down possibilities to filling in digits.

Placement Rules

A square is only valid if it meets several conditions at once. It must be in a region that still needs a cat, and it must not share a row or column with an existing cat. It also must not be diagonally adjacent to another cat. Because of these overlapping restrictions, a square that appears free can still be wrong.

Each placement removes other options. Once a cat is placed, no other square in its row, column, or colored region can hold a cat. If a region is left with only one possible square, that placement can in turn affect choices in other regions. Working from what cannot fit is a useful approach, and the game does not require fast play.

Controls and Mistakes

To place a cat, double-tap a tile. The game allows three mistakes, represented by hearts. A wrong placement costs one heart. This gives each guess some weight, so it can be worth rechecking rows, columns, regions, and diagonal neighbors before committing.

The goal is not to fill the board quickly but to find a consistent position for every cat. A puzzle that is nearly complete can still depend on a single diagonal conflict that was missed.

Daily Puzzles and Leaderboard

Beyond individual boards, Meowdoku offers daily puzzles. These provide a specific board to return to. A leaderboard based on completion times adds a separate goal for players who have learned to solve accurately. The timing element does not change the placement rules; a faster result still has to be correct.

Offline Play

Offline play is available, so the core puzzle can be used without a connection, such as during a commute or a quiet break. Players who prefer to take their time can study the colored grid before making the next double-tap.
