Book Summaries and Library
Headway offers more than 1,500 book summaries. These summaries are intended to give an overview of the important content of each book. The library spans topics such as business, personal development, science, art, and nature. According to the source, the summaries are written by experts and are quality assured, with content that is easy to understand and clear.
The app is positioned for users who want to access a large amount of useful information conveniently. The stated goal is to help users improve knowledge and skills with about 15 minutes of access per day.
Gamified Challenges
Headway includes gamified elements to make learning more engaging. Users can set daily reading goals, complete multiple-choice questions after each summary, and take part in activities such as discussion and sharing with the community. The app also provides a reading progress bar to track daily improvement. When users reach a certain milestone, they receive a Commendation badge.
These features are described as turning access to information into a game, with the aim of creating a more interesting and fun learning experience.
Spaced Repetition and Flashcards
The app uses spaced repetition, a learning method based on scheduling the review of information at fixed intervals. Instead of reviewing continuously in a short period, users distribute review over different time periods, from short to long. This is intended to enhance memory ability and retention, and to help maintain information in long-term memory.
Headway also includes the ability to create flashcards for learning new vocabulary. The source states that this supports learning new vocabulary, technical terms, and more across many areas of study and research.
Personal Growth Plan
Headway includes a feature for identifying and developing personal goals and plans. Plans are created within 30 days, and the app sets up notifications for the plans to help users form self-discipline habits. Users can customize the 30-day plan to suit their schedule.
The app also has an ML library that suggests content based on the needs users have planned. A tracking feature helps users stay motivated by tracking progress and improvement day by day.
