FairEmail is an email application for Android developed by FairCode BV. It presents a working style that differs from conventional email clients, organizing received messages into conversations in a way that resembles modern messaging applications. The app is listed in the Communication category and is available as version 1.2338.
The source material describes FairEmail as an app that is not aimed at beginners. Users who already work with email regularly, or who have a good level of access to email tools, are described as the suitable audience. The interface is text-based and minimal, and the app skips some fancy features in favor of writing and sending emails more quickly.
Conversation-Style Email
Received emails can be organized into different conversations. The user experience is described as similar to today's messaging applications, where you choose a person to start a conversation with. When a customer sends a message, that person is immediately included in a conversation. Selecting a customer continues the email conversation, and all information is gathered in one place so it can be noted chronologically.
Forms that work on emails are often quite compatible with the application, so information in an email that is about to be sent can be changed freely to make it more professional. Emails that require a form can also be made simple, and the font or font color changes depending on the important information appearing in the email.
Privacy and Security
The app is described as privacy and security focused. Activities operate on the application and are not shared with third-party software. For some emails that contain images and videos, a feature identifies them to avoid spreading tracking malware. No permissions are required: the application can be opened and used without going through complicated steps.
Accounts and Email Handling
FairEmail supports using multiple email stores at the same time, which the source describes as understandable for a busy person. Instead of switching between multiple platforms, emails can be dealt with in one go through a single interface. The source also states that users can work with a large number of emails, and this number is almost unlimited. With a few simple steps, emails can be managed quickly to avoid one taking up too much space compared to the others.
Interface and Resource Use
The interface is described as simple and intuitive, with a simple design that anyone can access and navigate easily. Because of the minimalist level of the interface, consuming fewer resources is also described as obvious. The source notes that the interface may change slightly, so a little time may be needed to get acquainted with it again from the beginning.
Development and Support
The app is described as continuously updated with new features, which are received when new versions of the application are available. Necessary support is also mentioned: frequently occurring problems can be resolved by sending them to the developer.
