Cooking Diary is a restaurant simulation game for Android. You take on the role of a chef who follows his grandfather to Tasty Hills, the capital city, where the grandfather has opened a family restaurant. As the manager and culinary master, you handle daily operations. At the beginning, you are on your own with no other characters or helpers. Later levels bring more customers, and you can hire an additional employee to help serve them. You can also change the character's face and wardrobe for a distinct appearance.

The game includes several restaurants to visit, each with its own requirements that must be met before you can move on. Every restaurant has a unique menu. When you unlock the next restaurant in the chain, you receive revenue from the previous one.

Preparing Dishes and Managing the Kitchen

To finish a dish, you follow simple steps and touch the available ingredients. Some dishes will burn and become useless if left on the stove for too long. This applies to baked goods, fried foods, and stir-fried foods. You need to be careful and keep track of everything you own.

At certain levels, specific conditions must be met, such as not ignoring customers, reaching a target sales volume, and preventing food from spoiling. A single-user account can have a maximum of five hearts (fitness). If you fail to meet the requirements, one stamina point is deducted. However, the game's publisher may provide an infinite supply of physical strength for a limited time as a thank-you for participating.

Successful service earns you gold coins and increases the restaurant's customer satisfaction index. After you complete all of a restaurant's challenges, your overall satisfaction is calculated, and a reward is given based on that number.

Upgrading and Decorating Your Restaurant

You can upgrade and decorate your business to increase foot traffic. To upgrade equipment, you first spend gold, then wait for new items to drop. Upgraded models of each piece of machinery are expected to have different capabilities. Because the game becomes more difficult over time, it is wise to invest in cooking tools first. If the customer service condition is not met, you will be at a disadvantage.

You can also add a touch of royal splendor to your restaurant using appropriate decor.

Guilds and Cooking Competitions

The guild system lets players organize, interact, and engage in commerce. Through conversation, you can make friends from around the world. You can challenge them and many other guilds to a cooking contest, with the winner receiving many rewards. A player's maximum prestige score is 6, and reaching a certain prestige threshold rewards you with a meaningful token.
